Artemis I

Artemis I, the first integrated flight of the NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) rocket and Orion spacecraft, assembled and launched by Exploration Ground Systems, is the first mission of NASA’s Artemis program that will send the first woman and person of color to the Moon and humanity further into deep space than ever before. The Northrop Grumman twin five-segment solid rocket boosters will provide 75% percent of the rocket’s thrust at launch, and the attitude control motor and abort motor contributing to the Orion spacecraft’s Launch Abort System will be inert for this uncrewed test flight.
